1. What is Paddlewheel Park Hall?
 

Paddlewheel Park Hall is a stunning waterfront venue located on the shores of Okanagan Lake in Vernon, BC. It’s perfect for weddings, concerts, meetings, and celebrations, offering a scenic location and flexible facilities.

2. What is the capacity of the hall?
 

  • Concerts and standing events: Up to 200 guests

  • Weddings and tabled events: Up to 150 guests
     

3. What amenities are included with the rental?
 

The hall provides:
 

  • A spacious main room on the lakefront with large windows to view the lake.
     

  • A kitchen with:

    • 2 stoves

    • A large fridge

    • A freezer

    • A microwave
       

  • Tables and chairs for your event
     

  • Washrooms, including:

    • Accessible washroom

    • Men’s washroom: 2 urinals and 1 stall

    • Women’s washroom: 6 stalls
       

  • A sound system and microphone
     

  • Wi-fi Internet
     

  • Free Parking
     

4. Is the kitchen fully equipped?
 

No, the kitchen is not fully equipped. While it includes essential appliances (stoves, fridge, freezer, and microwave), it does not have a dishwasher or service ware (e.g., plates, cutlery, or cookware). Guests should rent these items from a third-party supplier, such as Avalon Rentals, which is conveniently located nearby.
 

5. Can I host outdoor events at Paddlewheel Park?
 

Yes! The park offers beautiful outdoor spaces that can enhance your event. However, these areas are public and not included in the hall rental. The is a first come first serve picnic pavilion. If you rent the hall there is designated space adjacent to the deck that can be sectioned off for your use. 
 

6. How much does it cost to rent the hall?
 

  • Hourly booking Mon-Thurs: minimum 4-hour rental $400

  • Summer wedding full-day rate (April 1 to October 31)    $1,600 for the day

  • Winter wedding full-day rate (November 1st to March 31st)    $1,200 for the day

  • Full-day is 8:00 AM until 1:00 AM the Next Morning.
     

  • Make a weekend of it!

  • 3 Day Weekend Summer Weddings only $3200 (Buy 2 Days and get Day 3 for Free)

  • 3 Day Weekend Winter Weddings only $2400 (Buy 2 Days and get Day 3 for Free)
     

  • Extra setup hours can often be arranged for an additional $100 per hour.
    Setup must be at least 4 hours and adjacent to a full-day booking.

 

6A. Are there any extra fees? Yes.
 

  • The Hall admin charge is $150

  • Government Socan and Entandam Fees range from $32.87 to $98.62 depending on dancing and music and how many people are attending.  What is this fee for?

  • A cleaning fee of $150 is due for all events.

  • An insurance rider is needed and costs $60 if no alcohol is served and $160 if Alcohol is served.
     

  • Extra setup hours can often be arranged for an additional $100 per hour.

  • Setup must be at least 4 hours the day before, the day after or both and adjacent to a full-day booking.
     

7. What is the deposit and payment policy?
 

A $1,000 deposit is required by e-transfer to secure your full-day booking (or 50% for hourly booking). We also collect a credit card number and the remaining balance of your booking is due 4 weeks before the event.
 

8. What is the cancellation policy?
 

  • 120 days or more before the event: 50% of the deposit is refunded.

  • Less than 120 days before the event: The deposit is forfeited.
     

9. What are the responsibilities of the renter?
 

Renters are responsible for:

  • Locking up the facility after the event

  • Putting away all tables/chairs and leave as it was. 

  • Sweep Floor 

  • Putting garbage in the dumpster.

  • Ensuring the event ends by midnight with cleanup completed by 1:00 AM

  • Leaving the hall in nice shape for the next person.
     

10. Is alcohol allowed at the venue?
 

Alcohol is permitted inside the hall and on the deck only. Alcohol is not allowed in the park itself. Renters must obtain a valid liquor license and event insurance. Proof of these documents is required before the event.
 

11. Are there rules about smoking?
 

Yes, this is a non-smoking facility.  Smokers must leave the hall and use the smoking station next to the parking area. Be very careful allowing any smoking at your event, you are responsible for all damages caused by your guests.
 

12. Is BBQing allowed?
 

BBQing is not allowed on the deck or inside the hall. However, there is a designated area next to the hall where you can set up your own BBQ.
 

13. What time can I access the hall for setup?
 

Access times depend on your rental agreement. Full-day events generally have 8 am access the day of their event and be finished clean up by 1 am the next morning. These can typically be arranged for $100 per additional hour if you need extra setup hours at a minimum of 4 hours each day.
 

14. Is the hall wheelchair accessible?
 

Yes, the hall is wheelchair accessible and an accessible washroom.
 

15. Are there noise restrictions?
 

To respect the good neighbor bylaw, all loud music and amplified sound must end by 11:00 PM.
 

16. What laws and regulations must guests comply with?
 

During their event, guests and renters must comply with all local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations.

18. Can I view the hall before booking?
 

Yes! Hall viewings and question sessions are available on Saturdays from Noon to 3 PM and must be booked in advance.

19. What cleaning is required after my event?
 

Renters are responsible for:

  • Removing decorations

  • Placing garbage in designated bins

  • Wiping down surfaces, all spills or extraordinary messes
    Professional cleaning of floors and washrooms is included in the rental fee.

22. Are Pets Allowed?  


Many people want their pets at their events or ceremonies, however, it is rarely a good idea and prohibited at Paddlewheel Park. The City Bylaws also cover the entire park area. No dogs allowed.
